Poinsettia
Poinsettias are the perfect Christmas gift. They have a rich and colourful history, nearly as colourful as the colours they're now available in! They're the original stars of glamorous Hollywood, the only indoor plant associated with Christmas that's gorgeous and sophisticated, and come all the way from magical Mexico. They're so famous, they even have a day especially for them on December 12th, hence their association with Christmas.
No house is complete without one, and anyone you know would be happy to receive one. Got a teacher to thank at the end of term? A yellow poinsettia will brighten up the classroom. What about the neighbour who dog-sits? Accessorise the plant with paw-print paper and a spiky dog-collar!
